Clean Au Gratin potatoes

My husband and I tried a new recipe last night that I found online. He had mentioned buying a box of au gratin potatoes and I said "let's make our own because those are filled with fake food and preservatives". I quickly used google and found this recipe. My husband forgot to cover them before putting them in the oven so the liquid didn't cream as much as it should but they tasted amazing even if they didn't look as appealing.
